last update: 07/24/2010 Note: some e-mails sent from this web site don't get to our e-mail address, therefore you may wish to e-mail directly to bw35mm@hotmail.com We apologize for the inconvenience Welcome, both you who are visiting our herd for the first time, and you who are old friends. Thank you for taking time to get to know our bucks and does. We will try to answer your questions on our management, breeding philosophy and purchasing information within this site.
Saada Dairy Goats is a Limited Liability Company with three equal partners: Ziggy Ginest, Charlotte Haughian and Laura Evans. We are located in northwest Wyoming, 50 miles from Yellowstone Park. We have both irrigated and dry-land pasture, set against the Absaroka Mountains of the Rockies. We have a small herd - twelve does here, three bucks, and the six doelings we decided to retain for this year. We returned from the 2009 ADGA National Show in Sacramento last July, with more success than we would have dared to dream of. We had First-Place Yearling, First-Place Two-Year-Old, Second-Place Three-Year-Old, First-Place Four-Year-Old, Fourth-Place Five and Six Year-Old, and Second-Place Seven and Older Nubians does (most of these also had udder placings), as well as First-Place Dairy Herd and Best Three Females, Second-Place Dam and Daughter and Produce of Dam and to top it all off Saada Dairy Goats was named the 2009 ADGA National Show Premiere Nubian Breeder & Exhibitor! This was accomplished with a total of nine milkers and no kids. All does were in the top five in the classes, except one 16th and one 8th place showings. Due to family obligations, we were unable to attend the 2010 National Show, but hope to try our luck again in 2011! In April of 2010 we received notice that four of the five does we'd nominated for INBA's All American awards had won their classes and the fifth doe was named Reserve All American. This meant that the International Nubian Breeders Association's current One Year Old, Two Year Old, Three Year Old and Four Year Old All Americans were all Saada does! Most recently we had our 2010 Linear Appraisal session (July 13) and we very excited with our scoring, as we added several "Excellents", as well as great yearling and kid scores. We'll be updating those immediately. We are now sold out of milkers and for first fresheners and kids for 2010, but we do welcome reservations for 2011. We should be posting our breedings sometime after the beginning of August. Meanwhile, we are rejoicing in our new kids and udders. It's show time! We have shown under 6 judges this year and have received 4 GCH and 5 ResCH placings. We hope to get to another 4-6 judges, but we'll see how things go. Herd health is very important to us. We feed the highest-quality alfalfa available, in addition to dryland and irrigated pasture. A 16% protein grain mix, loose minerals for goats, kelp, yeast and baking soda. Kids are always hand raised on a CAEV-prevention program. We again have the entire herd with negative CAE tests. Births are attended and kids are raised separately from adults, prior to being picked up or shipped. We have never had other chronic or contagious health problems or diseases. For more information on our management methods and philosophy, please refer to the "Care" page of this web site.
