The Official Web Site of Saada Dairy Goats, LLC
Welcome, both you who are visiting our herd for the first time, and you who are old friends. Thank you for taking time to get to know our bucks and does. We will try to answer your questions on our management, breeding philosophy and purchasing information within this site.
Saada Dairy Goats is a limited liability company with three equal partners: Laura Evans, Ziggy Ginest and Charlotte Haughian. We are located in northwest Wyoming, 50 miles from Yellowstone Park. We have both irrigated and dry-land pasture, set against the Absaroka Mountains of the Rockies. We have only a small herd - 13 does here, 8 doelings, 2 bucklings and two bucks.
As we update this site in late August of 2008, we are so thankful for our successes. In April, INBA (the International Nubian Breeders Association) named SGCH Saada Lady Jazeez the All American Two Year Old and GCH Saada Lemon Xanado All American Four Year Old, in very tough competition. They were our only entries in the competition. We completed out 2008 Linear Appraisal session in June and were so very happy with the results. We added or raised Excellent scores on six Saada animals - which means every doe of two years of age or more is 89 or higher. And, all but one of the yearlings were 86 or higher. The Kentucky National Show was our first show for the year. But, what a great time we had there, to have 6 of the 8 milkers we brought place in the top 10 (the other two were 11th and 14th), as well as having several udder placings (including Xanado repeating for 1st place udder). We placed in the top 5 in all group classes entered. It was also gratifying to see some wonderful animals shown by Justa Farm of New Hampshire, as well the Rob Smith family of Indiana do well, that had been sired by Saada bucks from their own lovely does. Since then we did get to a show and were pleased to have the girls bring back five GCH legs! Who knows we may get to another one yet in 2008. Meanwhile, we have made our 2009 breeding plans, which may be found isted on the doe and kid pages. Herd health is very important to us. We feed the highest quality alfalfa available. 20% protein grain mix, loose minerals for goats, kelp, yeast and baking soda. Kids are always hand raised on a CAEV prevention program. Births are attended and kids are raised separately from adults, prior to being picked up or shipped. We have never had other chronic or contagious health problems or diseases.
Phone calls, e-mails or correspondence are always welcomed from those wishing more information, extended pedigrees, LA, or milk records on specific animals. Thanks for your interest in Saada Dairy Goats LLC. Let us know if you have questions or comments.
